Battery Storage Systems

Power When You Need It Most

Store extra solar energy for evenings, cloudy days, and peak-rate hours. Cole Energy designs and installs battery systems across Devon and Cornwall — modelled to MCS standards, protected by RECC, and backed by manufacturer warranties.

Why add battery storage?

Standards, consumer protection & warranties

Solar batteries store the electricity your panels generate during the day so you can use it later — at night, on cloudy days, or during high-tariff periods. This increases self-consumption and reduces your grid import.

According to the Energy Saving Trust, pairing solar with a correctly sized battery can significantly cut electricity purchased from the grid (typical ranges vary by system size and usage). Actual savings depend on your home’s consumption and system design.

All savings estimates we provide are bespoke and shown transparently in your OpenSolar design report. Assumptions are clearly stated and subject to site survey (MCS/RECC aligned).

We install and recommend Fox ESS battery systems because they deliver reliable performance, great scalability, and straightforward monitoring:

  • Modular capacity — start small and expand later

  • High round-trip efficiency (minimising energy losses)

  • 10-year product warranty (brand/manufacturer terms apply)

  • Smart app for real-time monitoring and control

  • Seamless integration with new or existing solar systems

We’ve installed Fox systems locally and like their balance of quality, price, and support — a strong choice for most homes across Devon and Cornwall.

Our Technical Director, Mike Cole, has experience specifying and selling multiple battery brands (e.g., GivEnergy, SolaX, Huawei Luna). If your property needs a specific inverter/battery pairing or you’re retrofitting, we’ll design around that.

Every proposal is modelled using OpenSolar so you can see projected generation, storage, self-consumption, and financials before you decide.
